Our Journey
The ShopBack Group is Asia-Pacific's leading shopping and rewards platform, trusted by over 20 million active members across 13 markets, including Germany and the United States. Driven by the vision to make every day more rewarding, ShopBack saves members money and time with more ways to earn and more to do with what they earn, and empowers merchants and brand partners to effectively engage its members. Founded in Singapore in 2014, ShopBack now powers over US$ billion in annual sales and half a million transactions a day for more than 20,000 online and in-store partners.Your Role
As the Venture Lead, you will own both the business line and the product — defining how ShopBack's proprietary data becomes a category-defining new venture. You are equal parts deal-maker and builder — 50% commercial, 50% product. You won't manage a roadmap; you'll manage a P&L.
This is an independent contributor role, reporting directly to the CPO with ownership of the new venture.
What You'll Own
- Business Development: Identify, structure, and close data licensing or data-as-a-service deals with merchants, partners, and platforms. You understand how data is priced, packaged, and sold.
- Product Build: Define and ship the AI data product that the business needs — working alongside engineers to build multi-agent systems grounded in ShopBack's first-party behavioural and transaction data.
- Commercial Architecture: Design monetisation models for AI-enhanced data products — from API access tiers to white-label agent deployments.
- Go-to-Market: Shape the narrative and pitch ShopBack's data moat to external partners. You've done this before — in data syndication, data clean rooms, or programmatic data markets.
- Rapid Validation: Move from commercial hypothesis to working prototype fast. You test with real partners, not just internal stakeholders.
Essentials to Succeed
- Domain Depth: You've worked in data licensing, data monetisation, or data marketplace businesses — and you understand how data products are structured, valued, and sold.
- Builder Instinct: You've either built a data platform, scoped one with engineers, or owned a product that sits on top of proprietary data. You can spec what needs to be built without a PM interpreter.
- Commercial Drive: You think in revenue, margin, and deal structure — not just DAUs and retention curves.
- AI Literacy: You don't need to write the code, but you understand LLMs, RAG architectures, and agent frameworks well enough to make product decisions.
- Operator Mindset: You're comfortable with ambiguity. You find the data you need, you talk to customers directly, and you ship.
- Impact First: You measure success in GMV uplift, revenue unlocked, and advertiser retention — not roadmap velocity.
ShopBacker Traits
- Agency - We take ownership and act, rather than waiting for permission. When something's blocking progress, we find a way through it and follow through until it's done.
- Judgement - We aim for high-impact decisions, not just easy wins, and we put the bigger picture ahead of individual interests. That means moving quickly and confidently, while staying thoughtful about when a call really matters.
- Learning Velocity - We pick up new skills fast and let go of old habits just as quickly when something better comes along. We benchmark ourselves against the best and keep raising our own bar.
- Tenacity - We stay in it when things get hard, keeping a level head under pressure. We debate openly before deciding, then commit fully — and support each other along the way.
