This position is part of the RDVT Non-Parts Procurement team and is responsible for prototype tooling (soft tooling) and related non-production procurement activities in the early R&D phase. The role manages the end-to-end procurement process, including demand management, RFQ handling, commercial negotiation, contracting, billing coordination, and supplier performance management, to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-efficient sourcing and delivery.

In addition, the role contributes to digital and data-driven procurement by leveraging relevant systems (e.g. eLog, cofico, and other new tools) to improve transparency, process efficiency, and data availability.

Qualifikationen

Qualification

1. Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the automotive industry

- At least 3 years of procurement experience in one or more of the following areas: body-in-white tooling, injection moulding tooling, or chassis tooling

- Hands-on experience covering the full procurement cycle, including RFQ, negotiation, and contracting

- Solid knowledge of current local tooling suppliers, including benchmarking of capability, pricing, and performance

- Good understanding of prototype tooling machining processes

2. Strong practical negotiation capability with a sound understanding of cost structures; able to secure supplier commitment and familiar with tooling contract terms and risk control.

3. Solid understanding of procurement governance and VDA audit requirements

4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prepare independent reports and management presentations

5. Familiarity with SAP; experience in driving system development or process optimization is preferred

6. Bachelor’s degree or above; an engineering background is preferred

7. Fluent in spoken and written English; German is an advantage

Task Description

1. Lead end-to-end procurement activities for the RD non-parts scope. Act as the key procurement interface for prototype tooling and special buy requests, independently driving RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract execution. Manage frame contracts by consolidating business requirements and optimizing demand documents (e.g. SOWs and charging models) --> %

2. Drive cost efficiency through structured negotiation and support cost transparency through analysis, benchmarking, and proper documentation. -->%

3. Facilitate know-how transfer, contribute to the standardization of RD China prototype tooling procurement processes, and help ensure full compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements. --> %

4. Support procurement digitalization by leveraging systems such as eLog, cofico, and contract4u, and enhance procurement transparency and data availability through effective system utilization. --> %

5. Manage supplier onboarding and monitor ongoing supplier performance; coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. RD business units and MP) to ensure timely resolution of performance issues. --> %
